The petition to rename the Waldo Tunnel in San Francisco after late Robin Williams has been signed by 6,000 people, within 48 hours.
According to the petition creator, Julie Wainwrigh, renaming the tunnel, which is located north of the Golden Gate Bridge, would help people remember the "joy" that the 63-year-old standup comedian had spread, Radar Online reported.
Assemblyman Marc Levine, who would decide whether to introduce this legislation or not, said that he would be consulting the Williams' family to know if it was the "most proper" way to honour the "world-renowned entertainer" or not.
Williams was found dead in his home in neighboring town Tiburon, California, on August 11, 2014.
