Philip Seymour Hoffman's will has revealed that the deceased star wanted his son to be brought up in New York, Chicago or San Francisco.

According to the will, the 'Capote' actor has left his entire estate to "friend and companion" Mimi O'Donnell, who is the mother of his three children, and mentions his "strong desire" that his son Cooper Hoffman be raised and reside in or near the borough of Manhattan in the State of New York, or Chicago Illinois, or San Francisco, California, CNN reported.

The document released by the Manhattan Surrogate's Court, which was signed by Hoffman in October 2004, reveals that he wanted him to grow up there so that he would be "exposed to the culture, arts and architecture that such cities offer".

The 46-year-old star was found on the bathroom floor of his apartment with a needle in his arm, earlier this month.
