The police in Philippines have reportedly arrested at least 60 people on charges of operating an international "sextortion" network.
According to The Verge, Filipino police say the suspects targeted hundreds of people in online chat rooms, luring them into having cybersex and exposing themselves on webcams.
The perpetrators would secretly record the encounters and use them to blackmail victims to extort money from them.
The network was reportedly broken after a combined investigation launched by Philippine police, Interpol, and the US Department of Homeland Security, among other law enforcement agencies.
Most of the victims were from the Asia, Europe, and the US, including a 17-year-old Scottish boy who committed suicide after being targeted on Skype, the report added.
