Smashing the collections of her first production film 'NH10', actress Anushka Sharma's second venture 'Phillauri' has collected Rs. 4.02 crore on day one.
According to a statement released by Fox Studios India, the collections of 'Phillauri' are higher than 'Kahaani' (Rs. 3 crore in Kolkata), 'Tanu Weds Manu' (Rs. 3.2 crore in Kanpur), 'NH10' (Rs. 3.35 crore in Gurgaon) and 'Sarbjit' (Rs. 3.69 crore in Tarn Taran - Punjab). Vijay Singh, the CEO of Fox Star Studios, said, "Phillauri is a high concept film with a big heart and we are happy with the start of day one. The film has good word of mouth and it will grow today. It is a fun, family entertainer and a perfect weekend watch for audiences across all age-groups."
For a concept film like 'Phillauri', it is doing great in North India and Punjab given Diljit Dosanjh's superstardom in this belt.
North India has so far contributed 52 percent of the total 'Phillauri' collections.
