Congress leader Ahmed Patel on Sunday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the ongoing strike by the MCD workers in the national capital, saying that his Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan should move from the realm of 'expensive advertisements and photo opportunities' and focus should be on the sanitation workers.
"Swachh Bharat shud move from realm of expensive ads & photo ops. Had focus been on sanitation workers today's strike would have been avoided (sic)," said Patel in his tweet.
The sanitation crisis has hit the national capital again with the municipal corporations going on strike demanding permanent jobs, arrears and cash-less medical insurance.
The 'Safai karamcharis' of the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) protested outside the Shahdara (South) Zone office and left garbage piling on the streets as a sign of protest.
