British TV host and cricket fan Piers Morgan has reportedly launched a scathing attack on England captain Alastair Cook on the social media, calling him 'spineless' following England's abysmal showing in the Ashes series.
The side has also lost the first two of the current five ODIs against Australia, with Cook showing a poor form, although he is already one of England's highest scoring batsmen, and became the youngest ever to reach 8000 Test runs last month.
According to the Mirror, Morgan has written on Twitter that Cook is emerging as one of the 'weakest, spineless, most ineffectual management lick-spittles' in the history of sports captaincy.
The report mentioned that Morgan has been heavily critical of England's performance in general throughout the Ashes series and during the current ODIs, although he defended England batsman Kevin Pietersen, who he claims is being unfairly scapegoated for the side's poor performances.
