Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu on Monday said that neither Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh nor Prime Minister Narendra Modi is involved in the alleged snooping on Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, and added that the Delhi Police was just conducting a routine check on the people under the security system.
"What are they (Congress) talking about? They were snooping on me, Advani ji, Amit Shah ji and Narendra Modi ji. The Delhi police, as part of their responsibility, were collecting details with regard to people who are under the security system. This has happened to me twice in the past. If some people want to be exempted from that it is their choice. At the same time there is nothing wrong with it," said Naidu.
"Neither the home minister nor the prime minister is involved in this. Let us not make issues out of non-issues and let us not politicize everything," he added.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the Congress is raising a non-issue out of frustration.
"The Congress must know the difference between routine security inquiry and snooping, they're raising a non-issue out of frustration," said Naqvi.
The Congress Party is likely to seek answers from the NDA Government in Parliament today over the visit of Delhi Police officials to the party office to seek details of Rahul Gandhi's physical appearance.
