PM Modi accorded ceremonial welcome at Berlin's Federal Chancellery

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday was accorded a Guard of Honour during the ceremonial welcome given by German Chancellor Angela Merkel in the courtyard of the Federal Chancellery in Berlin.

The German Federal Chancellery is a federal agency serving the executive office of the Chancellor.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister met several leaders and dignitaries including German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Allianz SE Oliver Baete .

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will later in the day attend a working lunch hosted by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Before leaving for Canada, Prime Minister Modi will also attend a session in a science and technology academy and witness the railway modernisation at German railway station.

 

In the final leg of his three-nation trip, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will leave for Canada later in the day and meet his Canadian counterpart Stephen Harper in Ottawa.

This will be the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 42 years. Modi will also reach out to the Indian diaspora in Toronto and Vancouver.
