Demonetisation will make India shine like gold: PM Modi

The Congress on Monday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is misleading the nation by diverting attention through demonetisation.

"Prime Minister's statement (in Bahraich) is another attempt to mislead people. He is an expert on misleading people. He has failed miserably in bringing back black money from abroad, so he has diverted people's attention through demonetisation. Again, he is playing the same game," said Congress leader P.C. Chako.

On Sunday, the Prime Minister while addressing the rally in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, via phone asserted that his fight against black money and graft would go on. He also used the occasion to lampoon the opposition for not allowing him to speak on demonetisation in parliament.

"They (opposition) come to the Well of the House...threw paper at the Speaker. We want to put forth the government's view point...but they are not allowing us to do so," he said.

On Saturday, he said, "Government has always said we are ready to debate. I am not being allowed to speak in the Lok Sabha, so I am speaking in the Jan Sabha."

"From the land of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel, I want to share something with my friends in the opposition," Modi said.
