PM Modi arrives at BJP HQ for parliamentary board meeting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday arrived at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in Delhi to attend the parliamentary board meeting after the party's victory in the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections.

The meeting has been called upon to decide on Gujarat's new Chief Minister.

Prime Minister Modi was received by BJP President Amit Shah.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Rajnath Singh also arrived at the headquarters for the meeting.

Earlier in the day, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said the party will hold a meeting to decide on the new Chief Minister of Gujarat.

He added that to win an election for the sixth time straight is "no small feat".

 

He assured that "the BJP will live up to the expectations more than ever before".

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi assured that his party will work tirelessly for the development of the two states.

At the time of reporting, the BJP has won 93 seats, while the Congress has won 75 in Gujarat.

In Himachal Pradesh, the BJP has won 31 seats, while the Congress has won 17.

The BJP workers have started celebrating all over the nation as the trends indicate party's victory in both the states.

The counting of votes for 68 Assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh and 182 constituencies in Gujarat began at 8 am today.
