Accusing the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of being hand-in-glove, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said Delhi needs a responsible and sensitive government.

"There are two such political groups contesting in Delhi, who join hands behind the curtain in order to come to power. A competition of making false promises, telling lies and imposing false allegations is going on between these two groups," Prime Minister Modi said while speaking at an election rally in Dwarka.

Prime Minister Modi also accused the Congress of practicing divisive politics.

"We solved the water problem that the people in this area were facing. There was a time when there was Congress government in both Haryana and Delhi. The Haryana Government used to provoke the farmers there in the name of water and the Delhi Government used to provoke the people of Delhi in the name of water. Creating tensions between Delhi and Haryana for political gains is what the Congress has been doing in this country," he said.

Prime Minister Modi asserted that development is the solution to all the problems that the nation is facing.

"I contested the election on the agenda of development, I govern the nation on the same agenda, development is the only solution to all our problems," he said.

Several BJP leaders, including party's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi, were present at the rally.

The Prime Minister, who is said to be the BJP's trump card for the Delhi polls, would also be addressing rallies at Rohini on February 3 and Ambedkar Nagar on February 4.

The elections for 70-member Delhi Assembly will take place on February 7 while the results will be announced on February 10.
