PM Modi congratulates Indian cricket team for beating Ireland in WC encounter

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Indian cricket team for winning the World Cup match against Ireland at Hamilton.

Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter to send his congratulatory message.

"Superb all-round performance. Congrats Team India! Keep up the momentum," Prime Minister Modi tweeted.

India beat Ireland by eight wickets register their fifth win in the ICC World Cup 2015.

This is the Indian cricket team's fifth consecutive win in the series. Skipper M.S. Dhoni has also equalled former West Indies captain Clive Lloyd's record of nine consecutive World Cup match wins. The leader of this pack is former Australian captain Ricky Ponting with 24 consecutive wins between 2003 and 2011.
