Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated the Indian cricket team for their splendid victory over South Africa in the World Cup match at Melbourne.
The Prime Minister took to twitter to convey his greetings and stated that the team has made the nation proud.
"Great performance. Well played. Congrats Team India. You make us proud yet again," he tweeted.
India today crushed South Africa by 130 runs in a Pool-B game at Melbourne to register their second consecutive victory of the tournament. This was also the first time India won against South Africa in the World Cup.
Opting to bat first, the Men in Blue posted 307 for 7, riding on opener Shikhar Dhawan's marvelous 137.
In reply, South Africa were bundled out for 177 in 40.2 overs. Shikhar Dhawan was adjudged man of the match.
