Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed grief over the loss of lives in the ferry accident on the Padma River in Bangladesh.
The official twitter handle of the Prime Minister's Office shared Prime Minister Modi's grief over the incident.
"PM @narendramodi has expressed grief on the loss of lives due to the ferry accident on the Padma River in Bangladesh," it tweeted.
"My prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives in the accident in Bangladesh: PM @narendramodi," it added.
A ferry carrying over 200 passengers had capsized on Sunday at Manikganj on the Paturai-Daulatdia route after being hit by a cargo vessel.
According to reports, the death toll in the disaster has risen to 70, with rescue services recovering 29 more bodies earlier in the day.
