Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday extended birthday wishes to Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra.
"On his birthday, I convey my warmest greetings to J-K Governor NN Vohra ji and pray that he is blessed with wonderful health and a long life," he tweeted.
Vohra, who served in the IAS between 1959 and 1994, is the first civilian Governor of Jammu and Kashmir in 18 years after Jagmohan.
Vohra, who served as principal secretary to former prime minister I.K. Gujral in 1997-98 and was a member of the National Security Advisory Board from 1998 to 2001 when the NDA government was in power, was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 2007.
