Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended birthday greetings to Sree Sree Shivakumar Swamiji on his birthday.
"Sree Sree Shivakumar Swamiji is a source of great inspiration and has devoted his entire life to service. Greetings on his birthday," Prime Minister Modi tweeted.
"During my visit to Siddaganga Mutt last year, had received blessings of Swamiji," he added.
Born on April 1, 1907, Sree Swamiji, is the head of Sree Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkur District of South India and also the founder of the Sree Siddaganga Education Society.
In recognition of his humanitarian work, Sree Swamiji was conferred with an honorary degree of Doctor of Literature by Karnatak University in 1965.
He continues his humanitarian work even at the age of 107 and is also known as "Nadedaduva Devaru" meaning 'Walking God', in Karnataka.
The Karnataka government also sought for Bharat Ratna for his social service.
