Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday took to twitter to extend greetings on the occasion of Mahalaya.
The Prime Minister tweeted, "Shubho Mahalaya! May this festive season enhance the spirit of joy, peace and prosperity in our lives."
Mahalaya is the auspicious day on which goddess Durga is invoked, and it heralds her advent before the week-long Durga Puja celebrations, which coincides with the Dussehra celebrations.
Prime Minister Modi also expressed his wishes to Saudi Arabia on their National Day, tweeting, "Best wishes to the people of Saudi Arabia on their National Day. Am sure the cooperation between our nations will grow in the years to come.
