Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday urged the young entrepreneurs of the country to make India's development a mass movement, the way Father of the Nation- Mahatma Gandhi made the freedom movement a common agenda.
"When we work together, we can solve several problems the country faces. In the same spirit as what Mahatma Gandhi did for the freedom struggle, we need to make India's development a mass movement," Prime Minister Modi said this while speaking at a conference of CEOs and Start Ups at Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra in the national capital.
"Every person wanted India to be free but Gandhi ji did something unique- he made every person feel he or she is working for the nation," he said, adding, "Every citizen must have a feeling that this country is mine and I have to work for the country, I want to add something towards its growth."
Further promoting the idea of cashless economy, Prime Minister Modi said that industries and corporations should collaborate with the government and work together with a new approach to bring this about.
"There is no question of compromising on the quality of your product. As industry leaders, think about what more you can do for the poorest of the poor," he said.
He added that in government, the welfare of the people and the happiness of citizens are supreme.
Prime Minister Modi held similar meeting with 212 young entrepreneurs last week as part of the 'Champions Of Change' programme, organised by Niti Aayog.
