PM Modi meets Bangladeshi political leaders in Dhaka

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently on his two-day visit of Dhaka, met leaders across the Bangladeshi political spectrum here on Sunday.

Ministry of External Affairs official spokesperson Vikas Swarup shared the information on twitter.

"Reaching out across the political spectrum. PM @narendramodi meets Begum Raushan Ershad, Leader of Opposition," he posted.

"Continuing outreach. PM @narendramodi meets leaders of Left Parties in Bangladesh," he added.

"Full spectrum outreach concludes with PM @narendramodi ' s meeting with Begum Khaleda Zia, former PM of Bangladesh," he further wrote.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi offered prayers at the Dhakeshwari Temple in the city. He also visited the Ramakrishna Mission here. He also inaugurated six projects undertaken with grant-in-aid during his visit of the Indian High Commission in the city.

 

Later, he received the Award of Liberation War Honour on behalf of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the Bangabhaban from Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid.
