Congress leader C. P. Joshi on Saturday criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks on development in Manipur and claimed that there is an improvement in the infant mortality rate.
He also stated PM Modi must answer or disclose the reason for the framework agreement with the National Socialist Council of Nagaland - Isak Muivah (NSCN - IM)which emerged law and order situation in Manipur.
"The infant mortality rate has improved in Manipur and as a result the state government received an incentive of Rs.1000 crore in three years which was used for building a medical college in the state," Joshi told ANI.
"A prepaid electricity scheme has been started in Manipur which soon will be providing 24 hour electricity and the same has been awarded by the central government," he added.
According to him, it is the responsibility of the centre to appreciate the achievements of the state government.
He also cleared that people living in Manipur are happy with incumbent Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh.
