Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed his pride for the Indian cricket team, after the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led squad bowed out of the ongoing World Cup, losing in the semi-final to Australia.
The Prime Minister took to twitter to share his message.
"Victory and defeat are a part of life. Team India played great cricket throughout the tournament. We are proud of them," he tweeted.
Earlier in the day, Australia beat India by 95 runs in the semi-final of the 2015 World Cup at the Sydney Cricket Ground, with Steven Smith scoring 105 for the home side.
Australia will face New Zealand in the final on Sunday in Melbourne.
