Prime Minister Narendra Modi today recalled Indian philosopher Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya's Mantra of Integral Humanism and contribution towards serving society on his 98th birth anniversary.
"We bow to our inspiration and guide Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his birth anniversary. His was a life dedicated towards serving society. The mantra of integral humanism that was given by Deendayal remains a guiding force for all of us. We are committed to fulfilling Deendayal's vision of serving the very last person in the queue to build a developed and just India," said Prime Minister Modi.
Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya was a philosopher, economist, sociologist, historian, journalist, and political activist.
He was also one of the most important leaders of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
He was a revered icon of integral humanism and an ideologue and a guiding force for an alternative model of governance and politics.
Born on September 25, 1916, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya passed away at the age of 51 on February 11, 1968.
