Terming Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meeting with the top business leaders in the United States of America (US) as a 'major game changer', secretary general of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) Didar Singh on Monday said that the Prime Minister's move is a real strong signal to bring back the business confidence for major companies around the world.
"This is the first time that an Indian Prime Minister is directly interacting with the business leaders in the US. This is a very important signal and a major game changer. It directly links with the make in India program that the Prime Minister launched last week," Singh told ANI.
"It's a real strong signal to bring back the business confidence for major companies around the world. I think he wants to convince them that it is worthwhile to look at the tremendous potential that India has as a market, as a democracy and as a stable place where business can happen," he added.
He further said, "American companies are already comfortable doing business in India, there has been a little bit of an issue of business confidence, and that confidence is what Prime Minister is bringing back."
Meanwhile, president of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) Rakesh Shah said, "By promoting "Make in India" program the export will increase automatically and the economy will get a boost."
