The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday backed Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs M Venkaiah Naidu's remark on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asserted that with his vision, there is going to be empowerment for the poor people, farmers, women and the youth of this country.

"Prime Minister Modi ji has rightly said that the agenda of the government is development and that is exactly what we are focused on. And he is certainly a gift to the nation because with his vision, there is certainly going to be empowerment for the poor people, farmers, women and the youth of this country," BJP leader Siddharthnath Singh told ANI.

Naidu had yesterday hailed Prime Minister Modi as 'God's gift to India' who was a 'messiah for the poor' and the downtrodden section of the Indian society.

"Modi is a god's gift for India. He is the messiah of the poor. He inherited challenges in each and every sector. He is steering clear of them," the Union Minister said while moving the political resolution adopted on the final day of two-day BJP national executive meet in the national capital.
