Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Saturday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the north-east will instill belief and give a feeling of security to the people there.
"The people from even the farthest corner of the country should know that this government will reach out to them and involve them in the development of the nation," Naqvi told ANI here.
"The Prime Minister and the Home Minister's visit will instill belief among the people of north-east.... and give them a feeling of security," he added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be arriving in Guwahati today on a two-day visit. He will take part in several programmes during his stay.
The Prime Minister will flag off the first train from Mendipathar in Meghalaya to Guwahati and also lay the foundation stone for new rail line from Bhairabi to Sairang in Mizoram.
Prime Minister Modi will attend the conference of Director Generals of Police in Guwahati tomorrow and give away the President's Police Medals.
