Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Siddaganga Mutt here on Wednesday and received the blessings of Siddaganga seer Shivakumar Swamy.
Addressing the students of the Mutt, Prime Minister Modi described the day as 'Mangal-Parv' due to the success of Mangalyaan - 'Mars Orbiter Mission'.
He urged the gathering to give a standing ovation for India's space scientists, who had accomplished this mission in the first attempt.
The Prime Minister urged the students to devote one hundred hours every year towards 'Swachh Bharat' and pledge to work towards a clean India.
Praising the saints of India, Prime Minister Modi referred to the donation of Rs 25 lakhs from the Siddaganga Mutt for the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund for the assistance of flood-affected people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said this was a shining example of our spirit of unity and national integration.
Prime Minister Modi also urged the students and scholars of Sanskrit present in the gathering to spread the message and knowledge of India's ancient 'shastras'.
