On his visit to the historic Terracotta Warriors Museum here on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi signed the visitor's book and expressed awe at the extraordinary care taken to preserve the Chinese heritage.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) official spokesperson Vikas Swarup shared a photograph of the note written by the Prime Minister in the visitor's book via Twitter.
"The Terracotta Army is a heritage of the world. It is a testimony to China's civilizational achievements. I am deeply impressed by the extraordinary care with which this precious heritage has been preserved," the message read.
Prime Minister Modi, who is on the first leg of his three-nation tour that includes visits to China, Mongolia and South Korea, began his visit by landing in Xi'an.
During his visit of China, Prime Minister Modi will also travel to Beijing and Shanghai, before departing for Mongolia. He will conclude his tour with a visit to South Korea, where he will participate in the sixth Asian Leadership Conference.
