Condemning the CBI raid on Delhi Secretariat, the Janata Dal (United) on Tuesday lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and alleged that the '56-inch chest' is being used to suppress opposition rather than Pakistan.

JD (U) leader K.C. Tyagi accused the Centre of practicing 'politics of revenge' against the non-BJP ruled states.

"It has been 40 years since emergency but it looks like those days have returned. This is an act of cowardice. The 56-inch chest is being used to suppress opposition rather than against Pakistan. The JD (U) condemns this raid. The politics of revenge is being practiced against no-BJP ruled Chief Ministers," he told reporters here.

Condemning the CBI raid on Kejriwal's office, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had earlier accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of attempting to stop 'honest politics'.

"Modi is trying to stop honest politics by scaring (us) with CBI raids. People are with truth, they will not let him succeed," Sisodia tweeted.

He further said that the Centre was trying to instill fear among the officers working under Delhi Government.

Refuting Kejriwal's allegation on the raid on Chief Minister's office, the CBI has said that the raid was conducted on the Principal Secretary's office following a warrant.

Kejriwal has accused the CBI of 'lying' and asserted that the investigating agency was looking at the files in the Chief Minister's office.
