Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended his thanks to Islamabad and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif after a naval ship of the Islamic Republic rescued 11 Indian nationals from strife-hit Yemen.
The Prime Minister took to twitter to share his message.
"I welcome our 11 citizens who've returned from Yemen with assistance from Pakistan. Thank you PM Nawaz Sharif for your humanitarian gesture," he posted.
Stating that service to humanity has no borders, Prime Minister Modi also said that he was happy that Indian forces were able to help the stranded nationals of other countries.
"Service to humanity knows no borders. Glad we helped many countries in evacuation from Yemen," he tweeted.
"The help India extended included help to our neighbours Bangladesh, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka," he added.
Earlier in the day, eleven Indian nationals, who were rescued by a Pakistani naval ship from Yemen, reached New Delhi today via special plane at the Terminal 3 Ceremonial Lounge at 5pm from Karachi.
Meanwhile, India has launched massive efforts to evacuate around 4,000 nationals, more than half of them nurses, out of Yemen, where Shi'ite Houthi fighters have swept in Aden despite an air campaign led by Saudi Arabia to check their advance.
India has also evacuated a total of 232 persons from 26 countries from Yemen.
