Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe will have a summit meeting at the Akasaka Palace here on Monday.
Reports quoted External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin, as saying that both leaders are expected to discuss a whole range of issues, including co-operation in defence and infrastructure development. They will be assisted by their respective delegations.
The delegation-level talks will be followed by the signing of agreements.
This morning, the Indian Prime Minister visited the 136-year old Taimei Elementary School, where he interacted with teachers.
He invited Japanese language teachers, including retired persons, to teach the language in India. Modi also expressed his interest in introducing Indian language classes in Japan.
