PM Modi to inaugurate global exhibition on services today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the first Global Exhibition on Services in the national capital today.

During the two day event, which will see participation from sixty countries, India will project itself as a leading service exporter.

India will also be showcasing its potential in sectors such as IT and telecoms, tourism, healthcare, logistics, education, research and development, space and professional services.

According to reports, India's services sector contributes 57 per cent to the country's GDP and is the second fastest growing services sector in the world after China.

Several leaders from the participating countries, including Australia Trade Minister Andrew Robb, Bangladesh Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Nepal Commerce Minister Sunil Bahadur Thapa and Ireland Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton will be attending the event.
