Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended wishes to the legendary Tamil superstar Rajinikanth on the latter's 64th birthday.
"On his birthday, I extend greetings to the legendary Rajinikanth ji. May he remain in the best of health and have a long life. @superstarrajini," tweeted Prime Minister Modi.
Tamil superstar's fans, who worship him like god, have put up huge posters and cut-outs of their hero as his much-awaited film 'Lingaa' is all set to be released today.
We are very much honored and happy. The film should be blockbuster," said Pramod, his fan.
Another fan of Tamil superstar, Raghu, said, "He is pretty humble from his heart. I wish his film go blockbuster and break all the records."
Born as Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, Rajnikanth, began acting in plays while working in the Bangalore Transport Service as a bus conductor.

In 1973, he joined the Madras Film Institute to pursue a diploma in acting. Following his debut in K. Balachander's National Film Award-winning Apoorva Raagangal (1975), his acting career commenced with a brief phase of portraying antagonistic characters in Tamil films.
After establishing himself as a lead actor in a number of commercially successful films, he began to be referred to as a 'superstar' and has since continued to hold a matinee idol status in the popular culture of South. His mannerisms and stylised delivery of dialogue in films contribute to his mass popularity and appeal.
