PM Sharif discusses counter-terrorism, energy crisis with ministers in 'favourite' hill station Murree

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held two key meetings with top ministers in his favourite hill station residence in Murree recently.

A four-paragraph official statement released by the Prime Minister's Office said that the Prime Minister and his key Cabinet colleagues discussed the National Action Plan against Terrorism and Extremism, besides the ongoing energy crisis.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar attended the meeting, which reportedly dealt with several thorny issues.

According to the official statement, which featured in Dawn News, "the Punjab chief minister apprised the prime minister of the progress made by the province in implementing NAP. The PM said the government [was] committed to eradicating terrorism and extremism from the country and asked other provinces to speed up the process of implementation.
