Janata Dal (United) leader K.C. Tyagi on Monday said if Prime Minister Narendra Modi is serious about the Land Acquisition Bill, he should hold meetings with farmer communities and opposition parties to clear doubts.
"If the Prime minister is serious about this bill, then he should have a meeting with the community of farmers and the opposition parties to clear their doubts," KC Tyagi told ANI here.
"All the famers know that the Land Acquisition Bill is to help the corporate people," he added.
Earlier today, social activist Anna Hazare accused the Prime Minister of allegedly misleading farmers on Land Acquisition Bill.
The Anti-corruption crusader took on the Prime Minister for his remarks on the bill, saying that the latter was looking at the world through coloured glasses.
Speaking to farmers on sixth edition of the radio programme 'Mann ki baat' earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that the amendments in the Land Acquisition Bill were made for welfare of people and villages.
