The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Thursday unveiled a comprehensive Anti-Rigging System (ARS) in a bid to prevent rigging and expose such cases during the upcoming general elections.

Addressing a press conference consisting of election agents, social media activists and civil society organisations at their party headquarters here, Senator Mushahid Hussain was quoted by Pakistan Today as saying, "Any rigging attempt will be resisted and reported to the Election Commission, the Election observers, and the media immediately."

He added that the new ARS would help to coordinate between PML-N candidates and their respective constituencies spread across Pakistan.

Hussain underlined that anyone found involved in rigging would be prosecuted under the law, according to the report.

Describing the elections as a "do or die battle", he said that July 25 would decide the future of Pakistan.

"It will prove whether the sanctity of the ballet and Supremacy of Parliament prevails or whether Pakistan continues to cling to a status quo that is no longer tenable," Hussain added.

Expressing confidence that PML-N would win the polls, he further said that the people had thronged the rallies of PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif in large numbers.

The political scene in Pakistan is heating up in the run-up to the elections, slated to be held on July 25.
