The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) is expected to discuss the communication strategy to highlight the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA Government's achievements in the first year during a meeting likely to be held on Wednesday.

Principal Secretary in the PMO, Nripendra Misra, will reportedly chair a meeting tomorrow to discuss the communication strategy to highlight the government's achievements and success stories concerning various flagship programmes and initiatives.

According to reports, the officers of the various ministries have been asked to provide the significant materials regarding the government's major initiatives and policy decisions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government will complete its first year in office on May 25 and the various ministries have been asked to show how its initiatives have benefitted the people across the country.

The government, which has of late come under sharp criticism from the opposition parties over the Land Acquisition Bill, is looking to reach out to the people on the occasion by laying emphasis on the changes it has brought in the last one year for their well-being.

Prime Minister Modi has repeatedly emphasized that his government is working for the welfare of the people, in particular the poor and farmers.

"We live for the poor. We are in public life not to enjoy power but for the welfare of the poor," he said while addressing the BJP MPs earlier on Sunday.
