A police constable was arrested for allegedly throwing a 17 year old girl off the roof of a police station in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh.
The girl, who is being treated at a hospital in Bareilly, has sustained serious injuries on her head and pelvic bone following the incident.
The police had filed a First Information Report (FIR) on Saturday, after the mother of the victim reportedly alleged that the accused constable had called her daughter, who had left home for tuition in the evening, to the police station where he is posted.
The police have registered a case of charging attempt to murder against the accused and are waiting to record the girl's statement.
The incident comes just days after two constables were arrested for raping a 14-year-old girl in the district.
