Police nab Maoist sympathiser in Jharkhand

Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested a Maoist sympathiser in the Gumla district of Jharkhand.

According to police, the arrested man, Punu Singh, used to pass information about the whereabouts of the police and their operations to Maoists.

Singh was arrested from the woods near Dolengsera village in the district.

"The Sub-zonal commander of the area, Deepak Sahu, had kept two weapons with Punu. The information was correct and we recovered a 115 bore rifle and a SKB gun from near his house," said Superintendent of Police (Gumla) Bheem Sen Tuti, adding that the police were currently interrogating him.
