Deputy Inspector General of Police, Danish Rana, said in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir that militants are preparing to infiltrate along the Line of Control.
Adding to that he said that the cases of infiltration might increase, following the retreat of U.S. forces from Afghanistan.
"The militant camps are growing and the militants are continuously trying to infiltrate. We witnessed it during summers and they will make such attempts even in future. Pakistan will not change its strategies. But we will do whatever it takes to protect our area and we are ready for that," said Rana.
Tensions have been prevailing between the two nations after regular violations of 2003 ceasefire agreement by Pakistan in Kashmir since August this year.
In October, around 30 to 40 heavily armed fighters had crossed the LoC in the Keran sector and holed up for nearly nine days in thick forests skirting the area.
