Hyatt Regency Delhi, the prestigious five-star hotel, has assured their cooperation with the police authorities in the probe of an incident where a man pulled out a gun during a brawl at the foyer of the prestigious hotel.

In a statement, the hotel said, "The safety and security of our guests is our primary concern. To that end, we employ a wide range of physical security measures and security protocols customised to the needs and the environment in which each hotel is operating."

Police have registered a complaint under the Arms Act against Ashish Pandey, the son of former Member of Parliament from the Bahujan Samaj Party, Rakesh Pandey.

Cops say it was Ashish who flashed a gun during a ruckus with a man and woman at the entrance of the hotel. The incident, which happened on Saturday, was captured by a mobile phone camera. The video went viral, swinging the police into action.

In the video, the accused, who the police say is Ashish Pandey, is seen wearing a black T-shirt and pink trousers and waving a gun to intimidate a couple. The video caused an outrage on social media even as the identity of the gun-toting man had not been revealed.

"We take the incident that occurred at Hyatt Regency Delhi on seriously and have been working with the local police authorities on the same. We assure our support and will continue to fully cooperate with the authorities in reference to any further investigation on this matter," asserted the hotel in their media note.

Earlier, Special Joint Commissioner of Police Ajay Choudhary said they have questioned the hotel officials seeking to know as to why they did not bring up the issue before the police. "We have asked the five-star hotel authorities why they did not report the incident to the police," the police official said.
