With only few days to go before Lok Sabha elections come to an end, political leaders and celebrities came out on streets to conduct roadshows and address people in various cities to garner votes for their party.
The election season has taken the nation by storm with leaders and celebrities conducting massive road shows with a show of pomp, power, entertainment and certainly a slew of promises to the people of the nation.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal conducted a roadshow in Varanasi, from where he is contesting against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, and Congress party candidate Ajay Rai.
Kejriwal said his sole intention of fighting elections from Varanasi is to defeat Modi whom he thinks incapable of curbing corruption which is rampant in current political scenario.
"If I had wanted to be a member of the parliament, I would have contested election from Delhi. But my sole intention of coming to Varanasi is to defeat Modi, because I think if he leads the government at the centre, then the corruption issue would further increase," said Kejriwal.
The election fervour was high in Kanpur, where actor-turned-politician and Congress leader Raj Babbar campaigned for Union Coal Minister and Congress candidate from Kanpur, Sriprakash Jaiswal.
"Sriprakash would win the election from here. People are supporting him. He has implemented many development schemes in his constituency which has instilled faith in people for him," said Babbar, who is contesting elections from Ghaziabad.
