Politicos laud Dhoni's boys for fantastic show against Bangladesh

The political fraternity on Thursday congratulated the M.S. Dhoni-led Indian cricket team for their splendid performance against Bangladesh in the quarter-final match of the ICC World Cup.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh took to twitter to congratulate the Men in Blue.

"Congratulations to Team India on its victory in the Quarterfinals of World Cup. Indian team's performance is peaking at the right time," he tweeted.

Union Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also congratulated the Indian cricket team on their win against Bangladesh and reaching the semi finals. He also congratulated Rohit Sharma for his scintillating 137 runs.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and actor Shatrughan Sinha on his part expressed hope that the Men in Blue would clinch the World Cup for the third time.

 

"It is a good moment....... I wish and pray that the Indian team wins the World Cup," he told ANI here.

Earlier in the day, India beat Bangladesh by 109 runs at a packed Melbourne Cricket Ground, with Rohit Sharma scoring a blistering 137 to prop the Men in Blue to a competitive total of 302-6. Umesh Yadav, with brilliant bowling figures of 4-31, was instrumental in restricting the opposition to a mere 193.
