The Janata Dal (United) on Saturday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech in Patna, saying that politics and the latter's speeches go hand in hand.

"It cant be possible that there is no politics in the Prime Minister's speech," JD (U) leader K C Tyagi told ANI.

"The projects that have been launched today, none of their inaugurations was done during this government's tenure," he added.

The JD (U) leader further pointed out that the new railway line, about which the Prime Minister was talking, has not yet been passed in the Railway Budget.

"In 1999, the railway line was already there and the new railway line, about which the Prime Minister was talking, has not yet been passed in the Railway Budget," said Tyagi.

"The gas line was already inaugurated earlier. He (Modi) hasn't even accepted Nitish Kumar ji's, the Bihar government's and all the political parties' demand of giving special status to Bihar," he quipped.

The Prime Minister launched a number of schemes on his day-long visit to Bihar today and promised the people of the state a package bigger than the amount of Rs 50,000 crore.

He also delivered a blow to the Nitish Kumar-led RJD by saying that he agreed with the latter that the development of Bihar has suffered due to politics.
