Ex-chairman of NASDAQ and imprisoned con man Bernie Madoff's company employees were involved in romantic and sexual relationships with one another according to court documents.

The documents released by the federal agents state that the Ponzi king was at the center of a bizarre 'love triangle' while other staffers were involved in sexual relationships with one another, the New York Post reports.

US Attorney Preet Bharara said that the investigation has revealed that over the course of the multi-decade fraud, a number of Madoff Securities employees and customers, including expected witnesses, defendants and others were engaged in romantic and sexual relationships.

Madoff along with his former secretary and four other associates are facing trial for their roles in the 65 billion dollars fraud scheme and for the first time have the prosecutors revealed about the relationships shared amongst the employees.

Lawyers for the defendants denied having knowledge of the revelations or knowing details about the matter.

The report said that Madoff, 75, married to the former Ruth Alpern since 1959 and currently serving 150 years imprisonment term, has been accused of extramarital affairs earlier as well.

An accountant, Sheryl Weinstein had blamed the con man for stealing her family's savings and in her published book claimed that she had an extramarital affair with Madoff, the report added.
