Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from North-Central Mumbai Poonam Mahajan on Thursday filed her nomination papers at the Bandra collector's office.

Mahajan, daughter of slain BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, vowed to give a tough fight to other candidates.

"Bharatiya Janata Party wants to bring about a change in the entire country and a change for the welfare of all people belonging to any caste or religion. I feel that people want us to come together and there should be overall development," she said.

Slamming Congress for underdevelopment, Mahajan said that she was hopeful of winning the elections.

"The way people of Mumbai are angry with Congress lawmakers who have failed to take adequate steps for the development of the roads in the last 10 years I am sure that they will vote for us and for a change," Mahajan also said.
