Pope Francis has reportedly warned mobsters that they will end up in hell if they do not repent and give up their "blood-stained money and blood-stained power".

Addressing a prayer vigil for relatives of people killed by the mafia, the Pope made the forceful speech as he read aloud the names of 842 victims.

According to News 24, referring to the "protagonists" of mafia violence, Francis said that he couldn't leave the service without speaking to those who were not present.

The Pope sent out a message for mobsters saying that the life that they lived now will not give them pleasure, joy or happiness.

He told the mobsters to repent, saying that there was still time to not end up in Hell, which is what awaited them if they continued on this path.
