Pope Francis has okayed the spanking of kids by their parents, the condition being their dignity should be maintained.
During his weekly general audience, which was devoted to the role of fathers in the family, the Pope said that a good father was the one who forgives but is able to "correct with firmness" while not discouraging the child, News.com.au reported.
When a married couple confessed that they do sometimes smack their children a bit, but it was in the face so that they don't feel humiliated, the Pope replied saying "how beautiful!" and that the father knew how to punish justly, but while maintaining the kids' dignity.
