Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko has declared that his country is now in a "real war" with Russia, urging Ukrainians to prepare for a Russian offensive.
Pointing to the capture of two Russian soldiers in rebel-held eastern Ukraine, Poroshenko said that the incident was a strong evidence of the fact that his nation was not engaged in a fight with Russian-backed separatists, but with Russia itself, reported the BBC.
While noting he had no option but to negotiate with President Vladimir Putin, the Ukrainian president said that he did not trust his Russian counterpart.
Russia's role in Ukraine conflict came into question again after two alleged Russian soldiers were captured in east Ukraine.
Moscow has consistently denied supporting or supplying weapons to pro-Russia rebels.
More than 6,100 people have been killed in the conflict since it erupted in April 2014.
