After being banned in New Delhi, banished in Netherlands, Uber is now being sued by the City of Portland, a report said.
Uber launched in Portaland on Friday but the City's Transportation Bureau is already dropping the hammer because it has laws for licensing for-hire vehicles and it wants Uber to follow them, reported Tech Crunch.
The bureau has issued a cease and desist ordering Uber to suspend operations within city limits and has asked the court to step-in and make it so, the report said.
Uber along with its drivers may face massive fines for operating in the city despite the directive. Each time a cab is busted, a 1,500 dollar-ticket is to be paid by the company and a fine of 2,250 dollars is to be paid by the driver.
Uber has a history of ignoring legal demands in the cities they operate in, the report said.
