A day after siphoning a historic win in Assam, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday said that the Congress, which could not form a government in either of the states, has become a habitual loser and it is high time that the party should introspect sincerely.

Congratulating her party for the win, BJP leader Shaina NC told ANI that the credit for the victory belonged to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Party president Amit Shah for the victory.

"Victory and defeat are a part of the electoral process but I think Congress party has become a habitual loser and unfortunately there is lot of introspection that they need to do," said NC.

"I would like to say that this victorious mandate for the BJP is clearly a credit of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and Amit Shah Ji, because I believe that this is the vote for stability, strong leadership and good development," she added.

However, the Congress said it will analyse the reason behind the defeat and fight back.

"Such opinions coming out in the open, I don't think that it is good. We will analyse in depth the reason of defeat in these four states. Congress has the inner strength to fight back this situation, we have faced even worst situations in the past," Congress leader P.C. Chako to ANI.

BJP bagged 60 seats on its own in the 126-member House of Assam. Its ally AGP has won 14 seats, while BPF has bagged 12 seats.
